Prenatal & Childbirth Education

Mindful Birth Talk


Mindful Birth Talk is a weekly discussion group for new families who are pregnant, lead by a Mindful Birth Doula. Each week, the group begins with a mindfulness exercise to center the body and calm the mind and continues with topic discussion about pregnancy, breastfeeding, new baby care, or parenting topics.  Following is an informal time to talk with your peers about current successes and challenges.  Once a month we will have a guest speaker from the community, that supports the Holistic aspects of pregnancy and parenting.


Classes are free and ongoing – held every Saturday from 10:00am-12:00am at Mindful Ways.

  • Coping styles that bring a clam birth
  • Stress reduction, meditation, and hypnotherapy
  • Physiology of birth

Holistic Nutrition for Pregnancy and Postpartum

Congratulation on the wonderful gift, of being a mother.  During this time there are many questions about nutrition. Most mothers’ to be are very concerned about giving their unborn child the right nutrients in order to help them grow and thrive in the womb. During this 2hr workshop you will learn all there is to know about proper nutrition during pregnancy and how to assess your intake of nutrients to make sure you are getting all that is needed for a whole and healthy pregnancy.


Classes will help with:

  • Understanding what you are presently eating and how it is or is not   supporting the needs of a growing fetus. 
  • Knowing how to read your body when lacking vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.
  • Understanding how food supports hormonal balance.
  • Understand what herbs are safe during pregnancy.
  • Knowing what to do with the general question; morning sickness, constipation, heartburn, and backache.
  • Understanding toxins; medications, alcohol, smoking, and products
  • Nutrition for breastfeeding
  • Understanding how to have a nutrient rich diet through all the trimesters
  • Consideration will be given to those in how to support a vegan, vegetarian, and food sensitivity diet during pregnancy.

Awakened Birth Method

Mindful and Conscious Childbirth Prep Class

 

A mindful and conscious birth respects human physiology and thus advocates for the least amount of intervention while still protecting the well-being of the mother and baby. The Awakened Birth Method™ teaches from the womb’s perspective and how interlink the mother, baby, and environment are. With this knowledge you are guided through the 7 Essential Practices to a joyous and Empowering Birth. Not only will you learn many mindful techniques and conscious childbirth education to prepare for your birth but will be joining others who are looking to join a community with a mindful and conscious approach beyond the birth.  This is a continuum mindful approach that will allow for a rhythmic transition into parenting and beyond, with 21st century education that facilitates the whole families needs.


Classes will help with:

  • Exploring Grounding, Emotion, Awakening/Empowerment, Loving, Seeing, and Trusting in your pregnancy and birth.
  • Exploring releasing techniques through Birth hypnotherapy , Emotional Freedom Tapping for Birth (EFT), Affirmation and Movement Therapy.
  • Childbirth Education form a Mindful and Conscious Approach.
  • Parents will receive a workbook, 7 hypnotherapy/mediation recordings, and 1 private hypnotherapy session.


This is a safe place for mamma's and couples to explore unlimited possibilities for pregnancy, labor, birth, to the postpartum time.  This is a 7 week class that meets weekly to explore mindfulness techniques, learn how to prenatally bond with your child, share the challenges of pregnancy with others, finding new ways to release stress, building a support group throughout pregnancy, understanding the changes the momma and partner are going through and hearing guest speakers talk on holistic health all in a very intimate group with only 4-6 couples per class.
